Today is Memorial Day and most American’s are observing this day by barbequing. For whatever reason, this year seems to be a busy spray tanning day for me as I’ve had 6 clients call me wanting to have an airbrush tan. That is very unusual for a holiday and because Monday’s is usually my slower day. I’m not complaining and feel lucky to have such great clients who trust me and call me frequently when their need requires a tan.
But today’s real holiday celebration is to remember those who have served in the past and are currently serving our country. Therefore I want to give thanks to those who are serving in the Armed Forces. And even though I am originally from Germany, I can say that I am proud to be in America, where I know I am free and I will not forget the ones who died who gave that right to me.

137 years later, Memorial Day remains one of America’s most cherished patriotic observances. The spirit of this day has not changed – it remains a day to honor those who died defending our freedom and democracy. Doc Hastings
